NCAA Basketball Betting – What Can Affect A Team’s Nightly Sportsbook Chances

E-mail Print PDF

Fans of the Toronto Blue Jays will even get it on the NCAA hoops season at this time of year because the Tournament is going to begin in a month or so, and we still have to get through the conference tournaments. You can learn a lot from watching nightly now with no football on the menu, and here are some factors to consider before heading to your sportsbooks.

Offense Vs. Defense

Most March Madness betting players will tell you that the game slows as you get closer to the Tournament, and even though scoring points is more attractive, they really don’t make a big difference when it comes to nightly ATS spreads; teams that can stop the opposition, however, are worth a look.

Long-Range Shooting

However, finding teams that can shoot the three-pointer effectively can boost their ATS stats because they can stretch out leads faster. It seems that teams are attempting more long-distance shots than ever before, and it’s an easy way to either run away from a team or close a deficit if you’re a good team.

Rebounding

Rebounding doesn’t help out a team’s ATS stats as much as you’d think, although they do help when it comes to outright victories. Two of the best teams in the country on the glass are North Carolina and Kentucky, and they have been partly victimized by high spreads because of their talent, but other top rebounding teams haven’t been able to cover spreads effectively. Don’t lean on rebounding as a make-or-break factor when it comes to teams posting a strong NCAA basketball betting mark against the spread.
