NFL Betting – Perfection A Near Impossibility In Today’s NFL

E-mail Print PDF

If last Sunday’s win by the Buffalo Bills over the New England Patriots taught us anything, it is that perfection is nearly impossible in today’s NFL. A couple of key turnovers, the struggles of a given unit in any single area, or even just plain luck or momentum can all be determining factors on any given Sunday, and that will continue to prevent teams from nearing perfection. The Patriots looked like they were on the verge of clinching a third straight NFL betting lines win on Sunday, and less than an hour later they were dumbfounded, walking off of the field at Ralph Wilson Stadium dejected following a 34-31 loss.

So which undefeated NFL team will it be that falls in week four? The defending Super Bowl champion Green Bay Packers are double-digit favorites against the Denver Broncos, so they appear to be in the clear for at least another weekend, while their division rival Detroit Lions have much tougher test on the road against the Dallas Cowboys. Meanwhile, the Bills are in Ohio to battle the Cincinnati Bengals, and it should raise some sports betting caution flags that they are only three-point favorites. Just over 75-percent of the team’s that make it to 3-0 actually go on to reach the postseason, and some may argue that those odds aren’t in favor of Buffalo making it this year. The Bengals haven’t been able to put it together just yet, but with the Bills coming off of another dramatic comeback win, this time against such a big division rival, they could be due for a letdown and this may just be the week that they suffer their first NFL defeat.
