NFL betting players have watched Darrelle Revis of the New York Jets develop into arguably the best cornerback in the NFL, and the Jets are doing what it takes to lock up their two-time All-Pro.
Revis was tied for second in the NFL with six picks, but he made a name for himself by shutting down many of the league's top receivers during the season, like New England's Randy Moss and Cincinnati's Chad Ochocinco on four separate occasions, as well as Houston's Andre Johnson. He was especially good in the playoffs, with a pair of interceptions, and he also played well in the Jets' loss to Indianapolis in the AFC championship game, holding the Colts' Reggie Wayne to five catches. A lot of teams won't even throw to Revis' side of the field (nicknamed "Revis Island"), which is a sign of how much respect he's getting from the opposition.
The Jets picked up Antonio Cromartie, who should see a lot of balls as Revis will continue to cut off one side of the field. New York would do well to lock up Revis like he locks up opposing receivers, as they would like to avoid a holdout like the one they had in Revis' rookie year. Revis isn't the only Jet looking for an extension, either, but he may be the most important player that the Jets would like to tie up. Revis says the Jets promised to get a deal done before the season started, and online sports betting players should keep a close eye on this situation.
